Need a refresh, but don’t have the time and/or money to sit in the salon for a full transformation? Well, perhaps a few carefully-placed highlights around your face are the answer! Recently, bold face framing highlights have become a staple of “beachy” balayage, and with Spring right around the corner, it might not be a bad idea to look like you’ve gotten some sun.
Who Does It Work For?
This simple touch has the biggest impact if you have an existing balayage, ombre, or even grown out highlights, as it refreshes the whole look, and adds a pop of brightness! However, when paired with a root shadow, and a toner that is only slightly lighter than your base, these can also look great on their own!
My Experience
A client of mine, Nora, recently came in for a MASSIVE chop (about 10 inches!!)
and a toner. She hadn’t had her balayage refreshed in almost 6 months, so after the cut, there were only a few inches of blonde left on her ends. Though she didn’t have a ton of time (and neither did I, honestly), I was able to throw a few face framing highlights in lickity-split, and she left looking as fresh as a Spring morning!
