What You Need To De-Frizz Curly Hair
Tame The Frizz With These Great Products And Treatments.
Don’t Let Frizz Hold You Back
Ah, summer in Florida. Don’t you just love stepping out on a July afternoon into air that feels more dense than traffic on I-4? Isn’t it just so lovely feeling like you’re breathing through a hot, wet towel?
By far, everyone’s favorite side effect of summer humidity is the abundance of frizz that comes with it. Luckily, there are some amazing products and treatments out there to combat the moisture in the air, and even more luckily for you, I’ve compiled a list of my favorites right here.
Bumble and Bumble: Curl Line
If you have curly hair, you’re probably suffering the most these days. It’s not easy to control curls in good weather, let alone in this swamp we live in. My recommendation for my curly girls and guys is to stay moisturized! I love Bumble and Bumble’s Curl line, which includes a shampoo, conditioner, primer, and three different styling products. All of these contain a curve-defining polymer that helps de-frizz, smooth, control, and add bounce. Ask your stylist which products from this line they would recommend to you.
Bumble and Bumble: Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Line
This one is great for pretty much anyone, even those of us with fine hair. This line contains a shampoo, conditioner, primer, oil, and a dry oil spray. Each has the same blend of six featherlight oils that help soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, detangle, and protect against breakage without weighing hair down. Personally, I love finishing off any blow dry with a bit of dry oil spray to ensure that it will be safe from the Florida air.
Keratin Treatments
This option is a bit more pricey than the product route, but is great for anyone who wants to stay frizz free without having to do a ton of styling. Keratin is the protein that hair is composed of, and the treatment essentially fills in any gaps in the cuticle of the hair strand, preventing the moisture in the air from penetrating it. Not only that, but it cuts the drying time of your hair down significantly. There are different kinds of keratin treatments at different price points, so be sure to ask your stylist which they think you would benefit most from.
Final Thoughts
Though there is little to be done about the air here in the Sunshine State, it’s a relief to know that bad hair days can be few and far between. So if you’re looking to be less Medusa and more Summer Goddess, keep these things in mind at your next appointment!
